Long Description
The park is named for the founders of the Home Oil Company, James Lowery and Robert Brown. The company donated the land to the government of Alberta in 1969 for it to be kept in its natural state. It became a Provincial Recreation Area in 1974, and in 1992 was designated as Brown-Lowery Provincial Park.
