Mike loves to camp, and the whole family enjoys being able to hike, bike, and kayak throughout Ontario. We aim to share our enjoyment, knowledge, and experiences with you.
How do we help fund our travel?
We have always believed in being honest and transparent with our audience. In our opinion, that’s the only way to build a community.
Creating and running this website costs both time and money. We have the cost of web hosting and other related services, and we both like to be able to eat, so we do want to earn a part of our income from this site.
Referral Fees
We earn referral fees when you buy services from companies that we recommend.
We only recommend products and services that we believe will add value to our readers. We try to test and use all products that we recommend. All opinions are our own, and we do not accept payments for positive reviews.
This monetization method is called affiliate marketing. The biggest brands on the internet offer affiliate programs such as Amazon, eBay, Google, etc. Many of your favorite sites use affiliate marketing to pay the bills.
The only difference is that not everyone tells their users how they make money.
Ads, tags, and links.
Often adverts and affiliate links will be obvious. Other times, you will see a special link unique to each website that track referrals. These are usually found in the text of a page or article.
You are tagged with a special cookie to track the referral when you click these links. If you buy the product, they pay us a referral fee.
The referral fees vary for each product but usually reflect the cost of the product or service. Other times we are paid a flat fee, much like a newspaper or magazine.
Question #1 – Will it Cost Me More Money?
No, absolutely not. Sometimes you might even get a better price if we can either persuade the advertising to make a special offer or we take part in special promotions.

Nope. We don’t see any personal information, i.e., name, email, address, credit card, etc.
We only see that an anonymous user made a purchase on the date/time and which product they bought.
